Robert P. Clower III was born on June 1, 1960 in Asheville, North Carolina. He received his A.B. from Brown University in 1983. After receiving his Ph.D. in neurobiology from Cornell University in 1989, he spent three years as a postdoctoral research fellow at the U.C. San Diego School of Medicine. He has published numerous scientific papers and abstracts dealing with the neuro-anatomical bases of learning and memory.
Rob received his J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1996, and spent the next three years practicing at Hale and Dorr in Boston, largely in the area of technology licensing. In 1999, he moved to Grinnell with his wife and two sons, and joined the Des Moines office of Dorsey and Whitney. Rob joined Brierly Charnetski in 2002 and later went out on his own to practice law as a sole practitioner. He recently joined Charnetski, Olson, & Lacina in September 2010. Rob is a member of the Iowa Bar Association and the American Trial Lawyers Association.
He pursues a general practice, including family law, business transactions, wills, and probate. Rob long has been active in numerous community organizations including Imagine Grinnell and the Grinnell Area Arts Council. He is the founder and leader of the Turlach Ur Pipe Band.
